Bio

Following a nationwide search, Dr. Vinicio J. L贸pez was named the ninth president of 91制片厂 (EVC) on September 16, 2024.

A first-generation college student who began his higher education journey as a community college student himself, L贸pez has almost 25 years of experience as a community college faculty member and administrator. 

After serving as an ESL faculty member for six years at Santa Ana College (2000-05), L贸pez, a native Spanish speaker, transitioned into administration. Prior to EVC, he previously was the  vice president of instruction at Skyline College (2022-24). 

In addition to his role at Skyline College, L贸pez has experience overseeing student affairs, non-credit and workforce education, dual enrollment, and international education programs, among others. 

At Skyline College, Dr. L贸pez was recognized for his collaboration with all stakeholders and constituency groups in order to create and implement initiatives that promote a student-first campus. Among his other duties at Skyline, L贸pez is co-chair of the Enrollment Strategies Committee鈥攁 successful college wide collaboration between students, classified professionals, faculty, and administrators鈥攚here he led development of a five-year enrollment management plan to increase student enrollment, retention, and completion.

His prior administrative experience includes serving as senior international education officer and dean of the Mission Campus for San Francisco City College (2014-22) and as a dean of the Le-Jao Campus for Coastline College (2009-14). He was also an associate dean at Los Angeles Trade Technical College (2007-09) and Santa Ana College (2005-07).
L贸pez holds a Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership, administration and policy from Pepperdine University; a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Phoenix; a bachelor鈥檚 degree in history from UC San Diego; and an associate degree in social and behavioral sciences from Miramar College.
